My entry into a computer at home started out with a 90Mhz Packard Bell desktop system, running Windows 3.11 with 8MB of RAM and a 545MB drive. When we purchased the computer, it came with another 8MB RAM and the Windows 95 upgrade disk which we eventually installed but not right away.

That got me hooked on computers, which lead to frankensteining many other systems together, usually using much older hardware. It was in that way I got exposure to some older stuff, 286, 386, and 486's, DOS only, 5.25" floppies, and all that fun stuff.

My first computer was a Pentium I, that was too large to fit on the desk and was knocked off multiple times. By the time we got our next computer it was missing the front panel and CD ROM face completely, and the chassis sat at a roughly 20 degree angle.

Not mine, but a reference image to what it once looked like.

My first computer that was just mine was a Compaq Presario with an AMD Single-Core Sempron and 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD. This is where I started learning HTML/CSS, tinkering, and truly started PC gaming. I upgraded that machine to 2GB RAM, modded the Sempron to enable a disabled core on the CPU (something with a copper wire bridge between two pins), and added a 500GB SATA HDD to begin my media collection.

If you don't count my grandpa's C64 and my dad's work's Apple IIe he took home over Christmas one year, it was some hodge podge beige box ibm/pc 386 with CGA graphics.

First one that I remember specs of, Packard Bell, Win 3.11 came with Mega Race, some 3-D (red/blue glasses) anatomy program and an entire encyclopedia on a CD-ROM.

I remember getting a PC Gamer mag with the demo CD having Mech Warrior 2 and realizing that the CD itself held more than my 400MB HDD.
